I continue to become inspired by witnessing the amazing strength and motivation that each person holds in bettering their lives.  I take pride in supporting clients in their journey to wellness and improved mental health.  I believe in addressing the health of the mind, body and spirit.  Through thoughtful use of medication, psychotherapy, and education, I aspire to design a treatment plan that fits each person’s lifestyle and personal beliefs.  I also evaluate nutritional status as this can be an important component of treatment.

I am a Doctorate prepared Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  I started working in behavioral health in 2005 and continued my education until I earned my doctorate.  Throughout this time, I have worked in various settings & with all ages, spending time helping those with eating disorders, substance abuse, treatment resistant depression, anxiety, impulse control disorders, psychosis, and adolescent mental health.  I truly feel called to this profession and appreciate being a part of each person's journey in their progression towards improved mental wellbeing.

An amazing experience is to participate and observe an individual improve the quality of their mental health and their life through personalized and collaborative treatment plans that include medication management, supportive therapy, and lifestyle educational strategies.  I value mental health as a core element in achieving recovery and a meaningful life through the instillation of hope, connection, and empowerment of the individual.

I am a Master’s prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has been caring for individuals in behavioral health since 2012.  With my experience in working with various people over the years, I have engaged with those in crisis or struggling in some of the most difficult times in their lives.  I pride myself in my empathic and genuine approach to treating the entire mind, body, and spirit of the individual struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, thought and memory issues, as well as child and adolescent mental health.  I offer this in a calm, relaxing, and friendly environment that welcomes the individual during their most vulnerable time in their life.  My passion is to guide others through a journey to a life with self-realization and mental well-being.

I specialize in working with adults and older adult populations in medication management, but I am prepared to work with teens that are additionally engaged in psychotherapeutic treatment.  I enjoy working with the transitional aged youth (18 to 25 years-old), struggling with their conversion from adolescence into adulthood.  Additionally, I am receptive in evaluating specific childhood difficulties, such as attention deficit/hyperactivity issues including impulse control problems.

Mental health is much more than the absence of mental challenges. It encompasses the physical, psychological, social, and emotional aspects of our being and is highly complex and unique to each individual. It is a privilege and a great responsibility when an individual chooses to allow me to participate in their journey. My experiences have taught me that collaboration and teamwork are necessary in any partnership, and working together to find a solution that is attainable and aligns with our goals is a priority.

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, trained in the nursing model of healthcare, which centers around a holistic approach to patient care and treatment. Advocation, transparent communication, and evidence-based, up-to-date solutions are the cornerstones of my training. My career as an emergency department nurse in underserved communities has afforded me the opportunity to work with a diverse population with a variety of backgrounds and specific needs.

My experience has spanned across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adult populations. I have worked extensively with our Veteran and Active-duty community as well. My specialties include trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and neurodivergent conditions. The positive outcomes related to therapy are something I believe strongly in and support along with medications in mental health treatment.

I am glad that you took this step to read about me and begin your mental health research. I hope that together, we can move towards overcoming any challenges that you may be facing and a better understanding of your true self.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over six years of experience in the behavioral health field. My expertise includes working with those in the midst of crisis and emergency situations. This being said, there are benefits in beginning treatment before crises arise, and my goal is to equip individuals with tools to better cope with future obstacles.

I take a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing that lifestyle and physical health play a significant role in overall well-being. In my practice, I incorporate strategies like exercise, nutrition, and sleep to enhance mental wellness, believing that taking care of the body is an essential part of mental health recovery.

Collaboration is key to my approach— I strive to work alongside my patients as partners in their care. I encourage shared decision-making and empower individuals to be active participants in their treatment plans. By fostering a strong sense of trust and autonomy, I aim to create a space where patients feel heard and supported throughout their journey.

I am passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages. While I specialize in working with transitional youth and adults, I also am prepared to work with a diverse range of patients, addressing a variety of mental health concerns across the lifespan. I understand the unique challenges young people face and enjoy supporting them as they build resilience and navigate mental health challenges.

My goal is to provide evidence-based care that promotes mental wellness and helps people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

My philosophy is that mental health should not be a luxury, but rather an integral part of our lives in order to help us live to the best of our abilities. No two people have the same story or the same goals. I wholeheartedly believe in meeting people where they are in life and in their mental health journeys.

I am a doctorally prepared Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of experience in behavioral health and substance abuse. I pride myself on breaking down barriers around what mental health looks like and strive to help those I serve find a sense of peace in their lives. There is no judgment in my office, and I will always be rooting for you from the sidelines.

I specialize in working with adults and young adults in medication management and brief psychotherapy. My areas of interest in psychiatry include substance use disorders, mood disorders (such as bipolar disorder and depression), and thought disorders (including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder). I also see patients for conditions such as ADHD, adjustment difficulties, and PTSD.

  • “Inspire is client-centered, collaborative, compassionate, knowledgeable, and good at seeing a client’s big picture. They know that mental health and medication strategies are not one-size-fits-all and that clients are more than a set of symptoms. They take time getting to know their clients, and consider all the options, making treatment much more effective.”

  • "I have been seeing my provider for almost two years, and I can’t say enough good about her. She is a kind and compassionate listener, and I always feel respected and well treated. Her knowledge about medications is immense, and she is always great about sending my prescriptions to the pharmacy in good time. I feel very lucky to have found her!”

  • “Laurie is simply amazing. I love the time that she took during our first appointment as I feel like I really mattered, that I just wasn’t another number. She has continued to maintain this level of care with me, which is why I continue to refer others her way.”

  • “During the time I have known Chandra, I have felt genuine care and compassion from her. She’s incredibly knowledgable and very easy to talk with. I always feel more at ease while meeting with her. I’m so grateful to have her as a provider.”
