Initial evaluation

The first meeting will be around 50-60 minutes long.  We will review your history, present symptoms, and goals in treatment.  This assessment is very detailed, so therefore completing your new patient forms prior to your first appointment, is necessary.  In addition, please fax, email, or bring along a copy of your most recent labs.  You may have your primary care provider fax a copy to our office as well.  We may also request prior psychiatric records to be reviewed by your provider prior to your visit.

 follow up appointments

Follow up appointments are generally 20 minutes long.  We will discuss how medication is working along with your current symptoms, goals, and coping strategies.  We provide supportive therapy and we will have time to discuss any concerns you may have.

Treatment

Research continues to demonstrate that medication management and therapy are most effective when combined.  Therefore, we incorporate supportive therapy along with working alongside your therapist to make sure your care stays consistent throughout treatment.

Many problems have various causes that are best treated holistically.  Reasons of disruption in life may be due to a combination of biological, genetic, cultural, and spiritual factors, including stress and unhealthy ways of coping.  We believe treatment is most effective with a blend of evidence based treatment and treatment that fits your personality and core beliefs.
